I am trying to create an installer for a very simple web application. I had this same error message, and following yakuza's post, changed the default IIS website port back to 80 and 443 from their changed values. We should try to make sure that SharePoint and Exchange was never installed on the server that FPSMC is going to be installed on. When I look at the MSI in Orca, there isa 'IIsWebSite' table with an entry for 'AlpsNetWebSite'.

Now in trying to get the new HP1.3 to install I run into this error. "Failed to read IIsWebSite table -2147023728. I don't think that should matter - the IIS custom actions are supposed to work for both IIS 5.x and IIS 6.0. Here is one question: How wix find the right WebSite?
