Can anyone give me a clue to what I should do next? Pacman has a --root parameter to work on a different target and you'd perhaps want to do pacman -Syu --root /mnt if you want to follow that suggestion. I guess I still don't understand what the problem is if the file already exists in the filesystem. Pacman Syuf Will try this fix tomorrow.
